The Silver Lining

Lately, certain events have caused me to cast doubt upon the people around me. Some very close, and very dear – who yet judge, betray, hurt, remain fair-weathered friends.

I spent quite some nights thinking about it, how I should judge, and what I should do.

But hey, there’s always a silver lining behind the clouds- sometimes, your few real friends are sufficient to comfort, and make you smile.

There was this friend whom I kind of had a crush on for a short while, when we started becoming closer. He knew it, and it remained pretty much one-sided. Nevertheless, it never came in between our friendship- how I felt, and how he knew. And today, more than a year on… sms-es, we were talking about the silliness of it, laughing at it-

Something probably very awkward and better left unmentioned to most. But I like it that way- I love how we can talk about anything openly, laugh freely with each other, and never let anything come in between the fact that we are good friends.

It was a tiring, moody day, but that really lifted my spirits. =)
