I was one of the ‘sisters’ for the wedding! And it was great to be part of this lovely couple’s wedding.
They dated for nearly 11 years…growing together since their Sec 4 days, and now they are finally married. Everyone was really happy for them, congratulations! =D

‘My Mother’s Donuts!’
June 5th, 2010 Posted 1:01 am
Nic, Ban and I went out this evening to have a belated celebration for Ban’s 22nd! It was one of the funniest surprises ever, gifts wise and ‘cake’ wise.

Nic got him the Clinique Happy Fragrance for Men. I <3 this fragrance and so does Ban!

See my improvised card? I got one of the free ZO cards and stuck overlapping post-its at the back to avoid creasing the paper with glue, then stuck some stickers on to brighten everything up. Even my post-its come in different shades of purple…
I got Ban 3 gifts!

1. A nice meaningful gift- came across this piano poster that said, ‘Life is like playing the piano. What you hear depends on how you play it’ (something like that, cannot recall the exact text.). I’ve one in my piano room too, may my students be inspired to have better attitudes.

2. A practical gift- facial foam and toner from the Loreal Men Expert Series, which Ban has been wanting to buy and telling me a lot about it.

3. My favourite, the useless gift- the Sex and the City Movie book! (yes we all love SATC.!) Lennel and I spotted this at HMV a few weeks back and decided to buy it for Ban… its filled with pictures, quotes, stories and fashion. Definitely for SATC fans!

Here comes the part about ‘my mother’s donuts’. I’m pulling Nic’s ears in the above picture because he swung my mother’s donuts around and kicked them too.
I went to get Ban 6 donuts instead of a cake…which I instant regretted because they were impossible to hide in my bag!
So when I met Ban, I mentioned that I bought donuts for my mum, to which Nic laughed and laughed, and kicked the donuts (they were on the floor by then). Throughout dinner, we kept talking about my mother’s donuts and Nic kept asking when I would open the box for him to have a peep at the JCO donuts.
Worried that Ban would get suspicious, I ‘made a call’-
“Mummy ah. I bought your donuts already. Huh? You want 12? Shit, I thought dozen was 6!”
Ban started laughing at the last sentence, thinking I was real silly and all…and then I actually dropped the donuts (genuine accident!). So Ban opened the box up to see if they were intact…not knowing what to do, I gestured 1-2-3 to Nic and we burst out into a birthday song! =D
According to Ban, he was stunned for 2 seconds. See, even obvious gifts can be made less obvious.

The infamous mother’s donuts.

Donut boys.

The people behind the donut conspiracy.
It was short, but I had fun. I hope Ban enjoyed his mini post-birthday bash too!

Birthday Gifts from Vietnam
May 19th, 2010 Posted 9:58 am
Had a quick catchup with Yuan Xin during lunch yesterday, who just got back from Ho Chi Minh City. And she had a belated birthday gift for me!
A fan and a handmade card from Vietnam. Very practical! Ban recently bought me a fan from KL too because I lost mine, and now I can leave one in office and one at home.
If you’re wondering why I need fans, read this.
I love the card too, so pretty!

I got home early because my family was waiting!
A cute little straw bag to carry on weekends from my mum! <3

Family minus youngest brother who is stuck in camp.

Eh, two couples. =D
Dad: ‘How old are you?’
Me: ’24, but this morning I wrongly thought I was 23.’
Love my family!
PS: I’m a bit over-caked now. And over-chocolatified. No cakes, chocolates or desserts for awhile.

The Most Wonderful Birthday Dinner
May 15th, 2010 Posted 1:22 am
I ruined my surprise and spent the whole week looking forward to my birthday dinner…
A FULL BUTLER DINING EXPERIENCE AT THE SINGAPORE FLYER!

Had to wait awhile at the VIP lounge before dinner…6 couples in total! Two of us had flowers, and mine was the biggest!
The dining experience was AWESOME. Even though it wasn’t a private cabin (that costs a few thousand dollars/dinner), it was relaxing, and very romantic.
The food was awesome, from the starter down to the dessert we had back at the VIP lounge. Ironically, it was the main course which we didn’t like very much- stewed beef. I guess we’re just steak people who like medium-rare beef.
We got to enjoy 2 rotations of the flyer… during the 1st rotation, we had our appetizers, which gave us a chance to enjoy the view. The mains came during the 2nd rotation. Quite interesting to see many servers rushing the food in as we passed the ‘ground level’ again so that we could get our food before we were up again.
I really loved every moment of it. Sitting across the table from him, talking, eating and enjoying the amazing view and chill-music.
Love this shot, taken by our ‘butler’. I think she has lots of experience helping couples take pictures.
After the mains, we had some time to sneak to a little corner of the cabin and look across at the Fullerton area…=D
For me, this was the most special birthday ever- doing something knew with the one I love. I love him for all the effort he puts into us. Not just the big romantic gestures, but also, the small things he puts up with and does for me on seemingly ordinary days, like accompanying me to visit my uncle and grandparents yesterday evening. I don’t know what I did to deserve such an awesome guy in my life…
My birthday wish this year is for him to be happy with his new job and life… and for me to be able to love him better. =D

Beautiful surprise at the office…
May 15th, 2010 Posted 12:37 am
At about 4:15pm, I received a call while in the office-
‘Is that Ms Lee Cheng Wei? Can you come down to the mailroom, there is a delivery for you to collect. Please come down immediately because we close at 4:30…’
I already figured Lennel had something up his sleeves, so I rushed down…what I did not expect was that it was such a BIG bouquet of roses! I saw it, and kept gushing to the mailroom lady,
‘omg, its so nice…its so nice!’
Very happy. Smiled non-stop until work finally ended. I’ve never received such a big bouquet of flowers before (the time I got presented flowers for playing at a recital is not counted) and it was rather embarrassing carrying it back up to office.
Boss: ‘Your bf got more standard than me. He get from Far East Floral, I get from Bedok Market!’
11 roses, meaning ‘You are my precious.’
There was also a card that said: LLKKSYSB, which I amazingly deciphered in a few seconds.
Each rose has ‘I Love You’ printed on! I love them. Love the purple wrapping, the pink roses and the purple flowers.

I loved them so much that I went mad taking photographs with them.
It was very touching. After my anniversary surprise bouquet, I didn’t think I’d receive such a big bunch of flowers for a long time. Thank you dear, you always make me feel loved. <3

Cake 4
May 14th, 2010 Posted 11:58 pm
Met Ban and Sooty at Saizeriya@Liang Court during lunch today to celebrate Sooty and my birthday.
By the way, Sooty and I are the same age… and we are born 9 days apart, and just 11 babies apart! (Our mission is to kill those 11 babies so that we’ll be next to each other, so if you’re born between 9-14th May 1986, beware!).
Ban got us a slice of very chocolate cake from Cedele!
Birthday kids.
Blow out candles… I <3 this picture! I think we look like 2 little brother and sister celebrating their birthday together!
Cut cake…
Between Ban and I, we got Sooty lots of Sooty-snacks. Haw flakes, gummy bears, broad beans, kit kats, sweets, chocolates…
And Sooty loves secrets, so we bought him the POSTSECRET book! I hope he likes it, I’m almost jealous of his present!
And Ban got me some Sephora vouchers. I guess he got the hint from all the makeup blogs I showed him, LOL. Thanks Ban, this is one of the most useful presents I could receive!
I <3 us. They make me laugh, amuse me, and most importantly, make me happy!

Fashion Disaster: Birthday Request
May 14th, 2010 Posted 10:59 pm

Its my birthday and we have a special date, for which he requested I wear my special white dress. Hmm, looks like I put on a bit of weight? (NVM, I’m not easily bothered, haha.)

Tried out a new way of doing ‘smokey eyes’ that I read about on a blog.
Think the earrings and hairband go with the dress!

3rd Surprise
May 13th, 2010 Posted 2:55 pm
3rd of 3-in-a-day.
I got home exhuasted from the day’s activities when I saw an envelope peeping out from my box at the letter table…I saw the addressee and I instantly knew what it was.
A birthday card from Kimmy Mouse in Australia! Only she will call me Mouse Wei Lee, put dog tape at the back, and thank the postman!
Love the purple card! She said she knew she had to get it for me the moment she saw it. She knows me best, my best friend.
I miss her loads and cannot wait for her to come back next month. Her birthday is in May too and I have the most awesome purple present waiting for her.
Thanks mouse. You’re the best! =D
