Unbelievable Coincidence
July 17th, 2010 Posted 12:15 am
Before I left the house today, I saw my navy blue ‘Long Champ’ bag from Bangkok and was thinking about how it was so convenient to use, and I should have bought one more…
When I met Kim (yes, mouse is Kim), she passed me part 2 of my birthday present and told me to open it at home. The following conversation happened immediately as I put the present away:
Me: (still thinking of my regrets) You know this brand of bags called Long Champ?
Mouse: OMG, open the present. Its Long Champ.
She got her mum to buy me the purple one from Bangkok!!!
What more, I also gave her a purple bag for her birthday!

And look, during her birthday last year, I gave her a Little Miss Naughty Plush Toy…when she was wearing the Little Miss Naughty shirt!
Unbelievable.

Bewitched
July 9th, 2010 Posted 4:28 pm
I had a sudden urge to listen to Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered and gosh, it makes me so nolstagic all of a sudden! Someone actually brought me to tears with this song before, and I remember it clearly, the day we discovered we both liked the song. And that’s a secret story. =D
Edit: OH, found a lovely video!

Purple Date
July 8th, 2010 Posted 11:40 pm
She’s back, my purple mouse friend! We’ve always loved purple, but today, I think I realized there’s someone more crazy in the world than me.
In order to have more time, we ate at Tampopo Deli @ Liang Court, right next to my office. We both tried the stone grilled beef curry and it was really really really delicious! Curry + Beef + Cheese + Egg all jumbled together…we loved it and will be going back for more next week!
I’ve been very excited to give her the belated birthday present- the purple DKNY bag I bought! Practical, purple and perfect present for her. She loved it…I think!
Matching bags. =D
She told me this was ‘Part 1′ of my present and ‘Part 2′ would come next week…I looked at it and thought,
‘So many things!!! There is another part?’
I’ve missed her so much and had so much to tell her…I really love how we always feel close even after not seeing/talking for ages. We never drift, never judge, never hide. Looking forward to our second lunch date next week!

Mark and Wendy
July 7th, 2010 Posted 9:29 am
I was one of the ‘sisters’ for the wedding! And it was great to be part of this lovely couple’s wedding.
They dated for nearly 11 years…growing together since their Sec 4 days, and now they are finally married. Everyone was really happy for them, congratulations! =D

Slightly Relieved
June 22nd, 2010 Posted 10:49 am
Finally, I said some things that have been on my mind for quite a few months. And tried to apologize about it, or at least, as much as an apology you can do online!
It feels like a burden off my guilt list. And I feel somewhat better. Sometimes, I think you make silly mistakes to learn and appreciate (is this an appropriate word?) your shortcomings.
Thank you. =D

SSSS Anniversary!
June 13th, 2010 Posted 8:46 pm

The picture above was taken on 13th June 2009, the day we gathered together, gossiped and took our first group picture…in a shower.
One year on, 13th June 2010, we’re all working ladies and have become a bunch of fantabulous girlfriends who e-mail regularly and get together to add some spice to the routine of working life! We celebrated our 1 year mark by gathering together for brunch at Choupinette. It’s a French baker-restaurant-cafe place located next to Coronation Plaza, which I love very much. Brings back memories of buying cheesesticks from there during my JC days too! Their food is awesome.
I went for a the tomato herb Focaccia bread (humongous) and a cheesestick (for nolstagia’s sake). Very delicious, but I think I was a tad overloaded with carbs for I got a slight tummyache after.
somethingboutrenes! I <3 her!
Siqi and Sueann- I <3them too!
Did I mention that these are the about the only people I eat desserts with? Unlike most girls, I ain’t a dessert person, but these girls love their dessert man. I get to try taste more desserts thanks to hanging out with them!
It was short (mainly because I was accidentally double-booked and had to scoot off), but it was a relaxing and girly Sunday brunch. I don’t have very many, but its great to have some girlfriends. =D
Happy Anniversary!

I got some gifts today!
June 13th, 2010 Posted 8:35 pm

My belated birthday present from Siqi! A big purple bangle (its there on my wrist)- a real coincidence, because Lennel and I have seen it a number of times but I’ve always put off buying it. And my Revlon Matte Blusher broke when I dropped the compact, so Siqi replaced it for me! Thanks Siqi, you know me best!
A piano cat paper pad from Sue Ann! It has lots of cute designs inside, <3 <3 <3 it! I was so excited to see it that Sue Ann had to remind me to calm down, haha. Thanks Sue Ann!

Sequel to ‘My Mother’s Donuts’
June 8th, 2010 Posted 9:06 am
Last Friday, Ban had the first episode of his birthday surprise with ‘My Mother’s Donuts’. On Sunday, Sooty, Lennel, Mark and I executed Episode 2, which was-
‘Yami Yogurt Boys’

There, the Yami boys! Here’s what happened:
Ban and I wanted to watch Sex and the City 2, and Sooty told Ban he ‘could not join us’… so Ban, Lennel and I met at PS and then Lennel started whinning about wanting to get some Yami Yogurt to eat before the movie, and I scolded him for being such a whiney brat that we had to go grab his yogurt before rushing for the movie.
While Lennel was buying his Yami Yogurt, Ban saw Sooty walking towards us…with a cup of Yami Yogurt in his hands and immediately called,
‘Sooty! Sooty!!! YAMI YOGURT TOO!’
LOL. Sooty adores Yami Yogurt, so it was a very believable conincidence that we’d meet Sooty there. We all had a great laugh at the small small world, and Sooty accompanied us up to get popcorn since he ‘had some time before meeting his friend nearby’.
When it was time to watch the movie…Sooty followed us into the cinema and Ban realized we PLANNED the entire Yami Yogurt encounter! I’m sure Ban was very happy that Sooty was coming, LOL!
And kudos to Lennel and Sooty for their excellent acting skills.
Lennel discovered he can take duo-coloursplash flash photos, so he’s quite into experimenting with it.
Anyway, I found SATC 2 funny, and hilarious at times…but I liked it a whole lot less than SATC 1. There was barely any plot, and the flimsy stories were just stitched together with in-your-face raunchy jokes (hilarious, but not classy at all). SATC was always ridiculous but entertaining, but SATC 2 was just all the way out there in terms of ridiculous-mania. To me, there wasn’t much depth to the whole thing, with the exception of the sweet message of girlfriends sticking together through it all- the characters became cariacatures, with each of their personality trademarks becomming so exxagerated that they’d fit more into a comic. I did enjoy it very much, but it was just 2.5 hours worth of outbursts of laughter and eye-rolling.
BTW, Carrie looked pretty old and according to Lennel, like a horse. I think the only character who still looked the same was Charlotte. Maybe Samantha too, who was always a bit older anyway, but grew fatter this time round. I was hoping there’d be no more SATC movies, because it’d just ruin the magic if they grew any older, but I was told there’ll be two more and the next will be about Carrie as a teenager! SJP playing a teenager- no way!
I miss the SATC series so much. Watching SATC 2 made me miss the goodness of the TV series, think I shall revisit them soon. And maybe read the book!
There was yet another dinner surprise when Mark showed up at TGIF! Well, Ban expected it when I asked for 5 seats at the restaurant, but he didn’t know who it might be!
It was my first time having TGIF in Singapore, and it was surprisingly expensive. Nevertheless, the food was pretty alright and it was a nice, short catch-up with friends whom have not gotten together for awhile. =D
Surprises are so fun!
PS: Lennel laughed very loudly during the raunchy jokes in SATC 2. Hmm…
PPS: He also glared at me while Carrie and Mr Big were quarelling over some ridiculous thing…HMM!!!

Secret Presents!
June 7th, 2010 Posted 9:43 am
Met Sooty and Ban yesterday for a belated birthday celebration for Ban (which was hilarious, more about it in another post). Sooty got me a belated birthday present, what a sweet surprise!
I got him a Postsecret book for his birthday and he got me back another Postsecret book, so happy! =D =D =D Now we can trade secrets.
And Ban also got a secret present…which shall remain a secret!

‘My Mother’s Donuts!’
June 5th, 2010 Posted 1:01 am
Nic, Ban and I went out this evening to have a belated celebration for Ban’s 22nd! It was one of the funniest surprises ever, gifts wise and ‘cake’ wise.

Nic got him the Clinique Happy Fragrance for Men. I <3 this fragrance and so does Ban!

See my improvised card? I got one of the free ZO cards and stuck overlapping post-its at the back to avoid creasing the paper with glue, then stuck some stickers on to brighten everything up. Even my post-its come in different shades of purple…
I got Ban 3 gifts!

1. A nice meaningful gift- came across this piano poster that said, ‘Life is like playing the piano. What you hear depends on how you play it’ (something like that, cannot recall the exact text.). I’ve one in my piano room too, may my students be inspired to have better attitudes.

2. A practical gift- facial foam and toner from the Loreal Men Expert Series, which Ban has been wanting to buy and telling me a lot about it.

3. My favourite, the useless gift- the Sex and the City Movie book! (yes we all love SATC.!) Lennel and I spotted this at HMV a few weeks back and decided to buy it for Ban… its filled with pictures, quotes, stories and fashion. Definitely for SATC fans!

Here comes the part about ‘my mother’s donuts’. I’m pulling Nic’s ears in the above picture because he swung my mother’s donuts around and kicked them too.
I went to get Ban 6 donuts instead of a cake…which I instant regretted because they were impossible to hide in my bag!
So when I met Ban, I mentioned that I bought donuts for my mum, to which Nic laughed and laughed, and kicked the donuts (they were on the floor by then). Throughout dinner, we kept talking about my mother’s donuts and Nic kept asking when I would open the box for him to have a peep at the JCO donuts.
Worried that Ban would get suspicious, I ‘made a call’-
“Mummy ah. I bought your donuts already. Huh? You want 12? Shit, I thought dozen was 6!”
Ban started laughing at the last sentence, thinking I was real silly and all…and then I actually dropped the donuts (genuine accident!). So Ban opened the box up to see if they were intact…not knowing what to do, I gestured 1-2-3 to Nic and we burst out into a birthday song! =D
According to Ban, he was stunned for 2 seconds. See, even obvious gifts can be made less obvious.

The infamous mother’s donuts.

Donut boys.

The people behind the donut conspiracy.
It was short, but I had fun. I hope Ban enjoyed his mini post-birthday bash too!
